My first guess is either hardware problems or incorrect settings in
the CMOS setup. Try to change some of the CMOS settings (like adding
wait states or making CPU cache reads/writes slower) and see if that
helps.
Btw, for a 16MB machine, you install RAMDrive and disk cache which are
too large. I suggest a 2-3MB SmartDrv at most and either toss RAMdrive
at all or make it 1.5MB. This is because when DJGPP runs out of physical
RAM and starts paging to disk, the large disk cache and RAM drive
won't help at all. See section 3.9 of the DJGPP FAQ list for more
advice on optimizing your system.
