Aren't %eax, %ebx, %ecx, and %edx in i386 and above general purpose 32 bit
registers? As I recall it is %esi and %edi that are not usable with
certain instructions.
(Excepting of course stosl and movsl, which are peculiar *instructions*
rather than the registers they disallow being peculiar.)
