I am looking for constructive suggestions and maybe assistance for
a project I have in mind. I have several graphics files that are
in two sets of formats that were used on the Atari ST computer.
These formats are "Spectrum" (SPU/SPS/SPC) and "Tiny"
(TNY/TN1/TN2/TN3/TN4/TN5/TN6).
I would like to view them on my PC. There are three ways I can do this.
Find or write a program to convert these formats into something like PNG,
find or write a program to display them directly on my PC, or find
a program which displays pictures in many formats through the use
of installable modules which can be easily written for a new format.
I have found one program to convert from these formats to GIF, but
the job it does is not very good. As far as I know, there is no program
that will display them directly. So this is what I plan to do:
Either write a conversion or display program, or write a display or
conversion module for an existing program.
So, what I need to know is this: what graphics libraries would be
the easiest to use with DJGPP to write a new picture viewer program,
and is there a modular program already in existance that I could write
a module for?
Of course, if anyone knows of a PC program that already can display
these formats, I would be VERY grateful to be clued in.
Thanks heaps.
