May I reccomend "Zen of graphics programming" by Michael Abrash.
(Coriolis Group Books (http://www.coriolis.com) ISBN 1-883577-89-6
price: US$44.99).
As well as 3D graphics, the book also contains extensive coverage on
programming the VGA and SVGA (including Hi-Colour graphics (but not
True-colour)), and just about anything you need to know about all sorts
of graphics. There's even a chapter about the basics of 3D maths.
There's 834 pages in total.
The book comes with a free CD containing Michael's 3D texture mapped 3D
animation X-Sharp library (Using Borland C++ 4.02 and Turbo Assembler
4.0). Also on the CD is the complete text to Michael's book "Zen of
Assembly Language".
Just out of interest, has anyone attempted to convert the X-Sharp
library on the CD-ROM to DJGPP? (although I'm more interested in the
techniques than the implementation).
While on the subject of 3D graphics, can anyone reccommend a shareware /
freeware 3D object editor that I can use? I may try to integrate Allegro
with a routine for reading in and displaying 3D objects generated by the
editor.
