How often do you really have to look through a list of files when you
don't know what you're going for?

What's wrong with find? Finds what you want, with or without case
matching.
On the same note, find&replace is just as good.

This is one program they've made that I actually like. The only catch is
that you have to buy DOS to get it :(

Instead of 'edit', try 'edit test.c'. Test.c will be open, and no stupid
message (I know of no editor that _DOESN"T_ act that way).
I _WISH_ people would learn to use a program before flaming it. Edit's
good, _DESPITE_ the fact that M$ made it.
