does termcaps suck under djgpp?
Hello, I'm currently encoutering problems with emacs and termcaps. I
dont' know which terminal I have to use to be able to get emacs with
colors, and
without strange characters that can come randomly at screen. Currently
ANSI.SYS is loaded, and I use the pcansi-25 entry from termcap.src
located at /djgpp/gnu/emacs/etc/. Can someone help me? please also
answer both in the newsgroup and in private.
Thank you!

Hmm... strange. As a matter of fact, the traceback you posted doesn't
make sense either. Are you using CWSDPMI or any other DPMI host (like
Windows)?
In any case, please try these commands:
set EMACSTEST=c:/gc/gnu/emacs/emacs.ses
redir -o emacs.log -eo emacs -q
then post the contents of the files emacs.ses and emacs.log.

Another thing that I would think about is the CMOS settings. Please
review items such as memory wait states and CPU cache settings.
Sometimes when you replace the CPU, these need to be tuned.
