I simply unziped it using UNZIP386.EXE from within a directory named
ALLEGRO in the C:\DJGPP directory. I just did this:
C:\DJGPP> mkdir ALLEGRO
C:\DJGPP> cd ALLEGRO
C:\DJGPP\ALLEGRO>unzip386 c:\temp\alleg211.zip
(Sorry for the command lines but I couldn't find a way to put it into
words tonight *8-)

make file. I just CDed into the directory with the makefile and typed in
MAKE. About 45 minutes later, everything was compiled and worked!!!!

Of course you can do what I always do when I download a zip file:
- Create a temporary directory (such as C:\TEMP) and uncompress it within
the temp directory. I then look at the directory structure and from
there its easy to figure out if something fits within the DJGPP
installation "standard." (Note: Almost everything I've downloaded from
DELORIE.COM/SIMTEL does.... *8-)
This technique of unziping it in a ZIP directory is also helpful because
in cases like Allegro, a included file (README.TXT) tells you how to
install it... *8-)
Hope this helps.....
