Welcome back, Shawn!
: You say the VESA 2.0 detection fails completely? ie. you get a "VBE 2.0
: not available" error? That does sound extremely weird.
Yep. The function set_gfx_mode (or whatever it was that sets the video
mode) doesn't return zero when I try to set a resolution of 320x240 with
either GFX_VESA2B or GFX_VESA2L.

: UniVBE support your card? I know it shouldn't be neccessary, but it
SDD/UniVBE does not work because it currently does not support the
Rendition chip.

: you try running the VBETEST program that SciTech distribute along with
VBETEST ran with no problems. This is what VBETEST reported:
OEM String: Rendition Verite 1000
Version: VBE 2.0 with 4096 Kb memory
I tried to Interactive tests and video modes 320x240x8-bit Banked and
Linear worked perfectly fine.

I would be more than happy to try out some test programs. My e-mail
address just in case is:

Thanks,
Happy Holidays!
