Well, I realized the error just 10 minutes after posting, while I wasn't
even looking at the code. I didn't open the file for input as well as
output. I could swear I opened for input in the program I'm writing, but I
found I did not, and when I add the ios::in to the test program here, it
works fine.
hmm.. Try to explain something to ask a question, and you may realize the
answer yourself. hmmm #2: I'm replying to my own post!
