I think the BC IDE has an option in the preferences... default
extension, or something. Of course, its inclusion in RHIDE is at
Robert Hoehne's discretion...

The 'different copyright' is only relevant if you explicitly link in
the full C++ library; simply compiling with gcc won't do this.
However, C++ does differ in many ways from C; certain standards have
changed.
