It seems strange that you're suggesting the original poster learn C, and then
go on to talk about near/far keywords -- these keywords are not ANSI C, and
are added as extensions on certain compilers only for some segmented
architectures.
Maybe you meant that he should consider borrowing or buying a book on learning
C _under DOS_?
