Objective-C is an older attempt at object-orientifying normal C. It is used,
for example, by NextStep. It's a fine system, but it just never really caught
on.
If you want to read more about it, get _Objective-C: Object-oriented
programming techniques_ by Lewis J. Pinson and Richard S. Wiener -- this is
the only book of any worth that I'm aware of on Objective-C.
(Other people with different opinions are welcome to contribute their book
suggestions.)
