I don't understand how can you say this. The cursor keys (Left, Right,
Up and Down arrows) work as you'd expect; PgUp and PgDn keys also work as
expected; TAB moves to the next menu item or hypertext link, Shift-TAB
moves back, and RET goes to the link (also pretty much standard in any
user interface I've seen). Sure, there are a lot of other commands, but
you don't have to use them if you don't want to remember them.
Here's a list of commands I use 99% of the time:
PgUp/PgDn and the arrow keys
TAB, Shift-TAB and RET to jump to menu items and hypertext links
`s' - search for a string
`l' - return to the last visited node

Info files are almost pure ASCII, so you can get that too.
