Hey folks. I think I've solved my problem with GCC. It would seem that the crashes (and corruption of my file system) occur only when I have the cache writing on smartdrive enabled. Thus.. if you're using the MS-DOS that comes with W95 don't enable the write caching in SmartDrive, or else you risk losing tons of data! (I was lucky because it was all backed-up... it might have been disastrous) Raja
