Unlike many other newsgroups, the comp.os.msdos.djgpp newsgroup has a
very high signal-to-noise ratio.  We've gotten many compliments to the
effect that questions posted to our group get *answered*.  In fact,
you have a higher chance of getting a problem resolved with djgpp than
with most of its competitors.  A big part of this is Eli's postings.

The DJGPP FAQ is very big; much larger than many other FAQs I've seen.
It's almost an AAQ (all asked questions) and contains a wealth of
information.  By quoting the FAQ, and providing quick solutions in
addition (where appropriate), Eli is helping maintain the S/N ratio by
providing each questor a lot of information (as stored in the FAQ) in
a short post (the FAQ reference).

I suspect that if we didn't have the constant reminder of the FAQ,
there would be *more* repetitive questions, as less people would know
about the FAQ.

Now, if we could just get that book written...
