My suggestion is to just ignore the spammers. They usually fit one of two
profiles: flame-baiters or scammers (ok, maybe a third: both). If you
react to it, the flame-baiters will just get their jollies and the rest of
us have to put up with a flame thread that goes on forever. The scammers
will just keep hanging around and posting if they think someone reads it.
If we ignore this junk, the flame-baiters and the scammers will look for
someplace else to go for their kicks.
