Compilation of the following C program under DJGPP v2.0 takes about 18 seconds, wall clock. I tried the FAQ suggestions for my setup summarized below. Any ideas what I am missing? Program (hello.c) ---------------- #include "stdio.h" main() { printf("Hello World\n"); exit(0); } Compilation ----------- gcc -o hello.exe hello.c Setup ----- Computer: Dell Pentium P90 RAM: 16M Internal CPU cache: 16K External CPU cache: 256K level 2, Write back OS: DOS box under Windows 3.1 Network: Novell NetWare 4.1 Disk caching: SmartDrv c+ 2048 RAM Drive : 2M TMPDIR to RAM drive Thanks Raymond McKendall mcken AT cis DOT upenn DOT edu
