Version 2.0 of my game programming library (Allegro) has some code to
play samples on the SB16. It only actually uses eight bit samples, but
mixes them into a 16 bit buffer for better resolution than the 8 bit mixer
can provide.
The thing is, I don't have an SB16, so I have no way of knowing if this
code works or not :-) If you'd like to try it out, I'd certainly
appreciate some help in testing it. If you are interested you can grab a
beta version from my web page (http://www.york.ac.uk/~slh100/allegro.htm),
or I can mail you a copy.
