With djgpp you've to call gcc with your program, for example I use
gcc -Wall -m486 -c myprog.cc
which does an compilation of myprog.cc (output myprog.o) and gives most
warnings possible (-Wall) and code for 486 (-m486).
gcc calls the preprocessor, compiler, linker, ... depending on your
command-line automatically for you.
