First, consider not rebuilding the library, just using the library which 
others built.  Do you really need to recompile?

If you do, then get the file faq102.zip from the same place you got DJGPP 
and read the DJGPP FAQ list in there.  It explains in sections 10.10 and 
10.11 what are the possible sources of trouble with recompiling GRX, and 
how should you go about solving them.
