The stuff now coming through on gnatlist is way too specialised for
comp.lang.ada (IMHO). In fact it's way too specialised for me until I have
another weekend in the office digging around. :-) This is the first time I
have actually encountered that famous Internet experience of casting some
bread on the waters (offer to share experience) and having it come back
multiplied many times over. It's wonderful. No seriously I mean it.
If I see stuff that is good general material that would be appropriate on
comp.lang.ada, then I will suggest it is forwarded to the newsgroup and
suggest future similar discussion moves there.
For now though, I suggest that Prof Feldman has done a service to the
whole GNAT community. As long as technical messages arrive pre-labelled
with Solaris, Linux, DJGPP etc, then his mild broadening of the scope of
my idea is also a good thing I think. I'll frankly admit that e-mail is
100% easier to get to than newsgroups for me, yet I agree we must respect
the choice of most to keep using comp.lang.ada for all general Ada and
GNAT discussion.
Is everyone happy now?
Oh no of course there are the people who want to be on the "dumping on
GNAT and ACT" list. Well please don't add me to that mailing list
