I think you forgot to tell gcc that your 0xff... constant value is a long long integer constant. Try looking at the documentation for gcc's 'long long' support like this: info gcc "C Extensions" "long long" (And do not forget to use prototypes for all functions with long long arguments) Hans-Bernhard Broeker (Aachen, Germany)
