I wonder about that, too. However, my statistics indicate that there
wasn't any increase in the number of faq's posted since the newsgroup was
created. Which is almost unbelievable, given that the number of
potential posters must have grown significantly. (Btw, do we have
numbers about how many people read c.o.m.d. now? Maybe it should go
into the weekly mini-FAQ?)
I agree that there are more flaming posts now, but only slightly so. I
think that the current level is quite tolerable (but that's a matter of
personal opinion, of course). A certain decrease in the traffic quality
is probably inevitable when you move to a larger forum, but I was afraid
it will be much worse.

I don't think this is necessary. This solution has many disadvantages
(both technical for those who would like to read both the list and the
newsgroup, and clerical for those who grant us these services), and as
the things are right now, IMHO its advantage would be minimal.
