   Just running 'go32' with no arguments reports it as version 1.12.maint3, but
   I installed patches up to maint4 when I installed djgpp on my pc.  Is this
   normal, or did I screw something up during installation?

You did fine.  The maint4 release did not affect go32 so DJ chose not to update
the version number for it.
