PS to my previous posting (I forgot to address one point)
As to coding standards, the FAQ covers this just fine and in
a way I REALLY like. Actually, what DJ proposes is what all
the programmers I know already do: get a fell for the style
used in the existing code and stick to it. A good programmer
should be able to adapt his coding style to a body of code the
way a good musician should be able to switch between jazz, rock,
funk and country.

Formal, written coding standards are for idle middle managers
who aren't smart enough or flexible enough to read other people's
code.
