This _IS_ (mostly) a 'good' (EXCELLENT?!?) group ...
EVERYONE was 'new' a one time, later when we are cloned 20 years old and
an expert in computers we will have no excuses ! - Filling the LIST with
flames serves only to publicly humiliate the SENDER (UNLESS the 'flame' is
particularly well put - seldom happens with a 'flame').
I often go back to read questions that later Eli (et al.) answer as the
answers make the question EVEN MORE interesting. Good stuff Eli !
While NEVER have _I_ been (nor _SEEN_) a flame for a simple/obvious/stupid
question _-I-_ have been flamed (I'm sure by the 'best' of 'em) for
"stupid" opinions ...
My "stupid" opinion is: Why do we have these posts ?

Not only was the incorrect address used but the poster (if _I_ may be so
kind as to refer to them in that manner) didn't wait for the 'automatic'
reply the would have occured HAD THEY USED THE CORRECT ADDRESS !
I still am stupidly opinionated that a skill testing question ought to
be automagically mailed to NEW subscribers a week or two later. It will
quiz them on what address is for what and be answered with simple
multiple choice (to simplify automatic processing) answers. Wrong answers
will result in a CORRECTLY ADDRESSED unsubscribe message being sent.
This will permit them to re-subscribe and re-receive the introductory
message explaining the listserv commands and procedures.
