Subject:	Newbie in a bit of a predicament

Hi.  I downloaded a copy of djgpp (112) and was in the process of unzipping the 
files when my system stopped (I did not stop to note which file it was).  On 
rebooting I was told that (surprise, surprise) I had no operating system.  On 
copying across Dos from a boot-disk, I was told "Invalid Media type C: " and 
when I typed fail i was then told "Failure on Int 24".  I then tried to copy Dos from the original installation disk to be told that it is already on there and   that further the C drive needed formatting. Could someone please fill me in on   what happened, what the error mesages mean and how I can go about fixing or stop it from re-occuring as I am sitting here with absolutely no idea :P.  Any help   from the limited info given would be extremely appreciated.
