Subject:	avril, rend386, and other VR apps.

   I recently discovered "avril" a 3d world designer library.  
When I attempted to compile, it reported a confusing file format (for the
library "avril.lib").  
    I'm a beginner, and have never succesfully used libraries or VR stuff.
  
        1) gcc example.c avril.lib      <- is this correct?
        2) is there something out there faster than avril/rend386 ?
        2.b) is it free?
