Dear DJ,
First of all, let me say how pleased I am with your implementation of gcc on
the MSDOS platform. I teach OS for (at both graduate and undergraduate
levels) here at UNSW. In the process, I had developed my own single process
multiple threads kernel and porting it onto I86 using your implementaiton
was a breeze. Prior to discovering your implementation, I was maintaining
different versions for the different compiler platforms on PC and it was a
mess. Now I use the same source (with small changes to the stack fiddling
code) on both R4000 and I86. Congratulations!
Now, for the real reason for this mail: I am in the process of developing
code for Motorola 68K and R4000 code (for a hybrid multi-processor
architecture I am building) from the MSDOS platform (i.e. I am looking for
cross compiler for both 68K and R4000 that run on I86). Could you or anyone
who reads your mailing list suggest as to where should start looking? I am
prepared to *buy* cross complier implementations provided they "conform" to
FSF gcc/gpp implementaions as much as yours does (and do not cost me a
bomb). Any pointers?
Thanks and regards
Jaya
