Been there, did that :-) ...
Emacs 19.25 comes with configuration scripts for DOS, and the tweaking
needed to put the XWindows stuff back in for DV/X s minimal. I put the
stuff on qdeck.com:/upload/emacs-19.25 last week.
Of course, there is also the Oemacs (which is based on Emacs 19.19).
