You are mixing pieces of different djgpp releases.  I think you need
bnu22bn.zip to get the current linker.  ld -v should say it is version 2.2.

I usually use OPUS make rather than GNU or Borland versions, but I think that
you may get better results with Borland's real-mode make which is maker.exe.
