I just got the files from clarkson via FTP and downloaded them to my
486, however I have so far encountered the following problems:
1) The install program expected a file dif115sr.zip to be present, while it
wasn't, I got it from another site though.
2) After following the instructions about setting various variables
etc, I tried to run the thing. gcc (I suspect it really is cc1) is
then reporting the following problems:
2a) trying to compile a file by
gcc x.c
will cause the program to write
Unknown file type 0x6923 (064443)
2b) If I try to do a simple thing like
gcc -v
to get the gcc to identify itself etc, it will respond with
Can't open file <-v>
Is there anyone out there that has managed to get gcc to run on a 486 at
all????
I have a 486 33MHz with 24 Mb RAM and a total of 2.6 Gb disk space,
I have managed to run oemacs sucessfully on the machine and if the
problems arise due to conflict between emacs's GO32 and gcc's same
I would like to know how to fix these problems.
