Hello All,

I'm sorry this is so late. I didn't mean to be rude, but I just had a
physics exam and a lot of calculus problems due. (I did get a 99% on the
physics exam, so it wasn't in vain.)

*Thank You* to everyone (!) who wrote to the list or to me personally
about DOS and line terminators. To summarize briefly, the / vs \ issue
goes back to CPM and the days of NO subdirectories. (Boy, when you say
*historical* reasons, you aren't kidding!) A lot of people hadn't even
heard of UNIX then.

I do know I'm just simulating UNIX, but even simple things like ls with
proper options help me tremendously, and the style suits me better. I
received a recommendation for something called umsdos, which I'm looking
into now. I'll probably go linux during the summer break.

Gratefully (if off-topically) yours,
Geno

PS: Oh, here's something relevant: Wasn't the whole point of the pentium
that it was going to be "the clonebuster chip"? I thought that was the
reason behind the unpublished documentation ("Appendix H", which makes
me think of The X-Files) and the "GENUINE INTEL!" authentication code.
