A simpler and more general solution is to have this info in the FAQ if no one
has put it in yet.  When I first installed this I had no idea that
maintenance files were available, let alone required.  The "all you need is
these four files" (or whatever) line is misleading.  If I weren't desperate
for a DOS compiler I would just have written the whole thing off as soon as I
tried it and found it didn't work.
