  Antonio,

I think the need for a djgpp newsgroup is clear.

    Volker has now suggested

	gnu.gcc.msdos

as an alternative to

	comp.os.msdos.djgpp

In terms of its geneaology, I suppose, djgpp belongs under gcc.

In terms of who uses djgpp, one could argue, djgpp belongs under msdos.

When I started out on the internet 3 months ago, all I knew about was
msdos and all I had in mind was finding msdos software; when I
discovered the ubiquity of Solaris on the internet, I had to start
thinking about porting things from unix-type os to msdos; then I
discovered DJDelorie's amazing package that, in effect, ports unix to msdos!

So, I wanted to get djgpp running on my msdos box as soon as I could,
and that's where the rub came in: where was I supposed to go to find
people who might be willing to answer my "newbie" questions?

That is when I became aware that there was really no place for djgpp
people to go, and I posted an article in news.newsgroups (or something
like that) and suggested there was a need for something like
comp.gnu.gcc.djgpp (I don't remember exactly) and the replies I got all
went to the effect that "djgpp people already have the option of posting
under comp.os.msdos".

This had not occurred to me (I was posting under gnu.gcc) but that is
where I got the idea of comp.os.msdos.djgpp, anyway.

  Bill
