HELP ME!

When I compile my first program using gcc (Ver 2.57), I got an error msg:

.../lib/crt0.o : malformed input file (not rel or archive).

I have no idea to solve this problem, (even after I install those maint. files
dj111m*.zip).  Can anybody give me a hand?  Thanks.
