This (_go32_dpmi_simulate_int) was the solution proposed by DJ in our
original discussion ... I don't have (time) resources to investigate and wound
up just sticking with the old version of the program in question (on my PC --
I have been able to upgrade on Unix and the Very Malevolent System.
