Subject: "Slow" + a djgpp archives tidbit
I have to say I agree with Darryl about the fact that this is about
the best you're going to do in a race between a notebook and a desktop
machine.
Also, if I remember correctly, the archives in /pub/msdos/djgpp at
sun.soe.clarkson.edu are broken down approximately as follows:
djgpp-announce Announcements *only* (of course)
djgpp Discussion of v 1.11
djgpp-old.1 Discussion of v 1.10
djgpp-old Discussion of everything before v 1.10
(I may have the contents of old and old.1 backwards; pre-1.10 is the
8MB monster.) This breakdown is pretty approximate, and unfortunately
lots of stuff seems to have reappeared in v 1.11 that had been
temporarily fixed in previous versions (not surprising, given the rate
at which features are appearing in GO32 these days). So many people
are going to have to go to the 8MB djgpp-old to find discussion of
related issues :-( But people may be able to find what they're
looking for in the more recent volumes.
Happy hunting.
