Because you're in protected mode, this request must be broken up into
smaller requests (4K at the moment) for DOS to handle.  You can speed
this up by using _go32_dpmi_simulate_interrupt() directly, with a
larger transfer buffer.

99 buffers is still a lot smaller than the 2Mb chunk you're trying to
write!
