I purposely left -lgpl out of the default link lines because libgpl.a
contains all the GPL-protected code in it. Thus, your application
won't accidentally become GPL - you have to manually tell it to use
the GPL code. Note that all the C++ libraries are GPL.

No, the specs file is just fine.

The _p files are for using the profiler (gcc -pg). All the C++ class
routines are in libgpl.a. (the builtins, like new and delete, are in
libc.a)
