Hello,
I just joined the list. I downloaded djgpp from a mirror in montana
and I installed all of the files. After a few tries, I got it to
work, Nice job dj.
I know that obj-c doesn't come with it. I noticed some guy on the
obj-c group posted a problem with getting obj-c to run on djgpp.
(That post inspired me to consider running djgpp again. I didn't
have the disk space before.) Linux is nice, but I want to fiddle
with low level VGA and do my own real-time exec.... So back to the
subject... has anybody put Obj-C on djgpp without success? If so,
please email me, else, I will take a shot at too.
When I installed djgpp, I tried compiling them. The one called
GRTASK didn't work??!? It init my screen and that was it; no more
of anything(blank screen). I have a monochrome monitor installed as
well so I took that out. (I don't know the video memory maps). It
still didn't work. I have a Trident 8900C card with 1 meg of RAM, I:
set go32= mono driver d:/djgpp/drivers/tridnt89.grd
I have tried it with gw and gh, without mono when there was no
mono. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Other
demos I could try???
Finally, I am interested in fiddling with the timer interupt and
another interupt from a board I have. How do I install my own
interupt routines? Which system do they have to be under?
Vx86, Real, or Protected. For example, if I installed a mod
player module under dos...would it still run while my djgpp
program ran? Would it run well, or would setting up another
interupt service under another mode give a shorter interupt
response time?
That rounds up all of the questions I have. Any help would
be great!
