Thanks to Charles Sandmann, who supplied go32.exe for NT,
I'm able to run my djgpp compiled programs in a DOS box under NT and
cum grano salis I can say they work. Its a bourne shell script forming some
menues using the ANSI.SYS facility of the DOS box, based on MSH200 (bourne
shell for DOS), the gnu utilities for DOS, ported and compiled by Eric Backus,
things like mv, cp, cat etc. work fine in the shell scripts. Even my
application, a 3 MB Fortran program (f2c compiled) runs fine and
produces correct results .... but quite very often the DOS box hangs
right after one of these DPMI claiming djgpp programs have exited.
It is known that NT has a bug in it's DPMI implementation - and the
workaround go32nt.exe is using may be the cause for this.
Is anyone else using go32nt.exe and has observed similar behaviour?
