I'd like to thank all that helped me to solve my installation problem.
I have gcc working fine and fast on my PC now but I got one more question:
Does virtual memory means that when I have a large calculation problem 
gcc will start to store temporary results on disk after running out of all 
available memory (including expanded memory)?
