	First of all, I thank all who answer to my question about
	compile time.

	To Gunter Hartel : I'm using a very nice matrix package 
	that handles dense and sparse matrix. It contains a remarkably
	good set of functions ( LU, Cholesky, SVD, QR, ... ). It's
	written in C and can be available by ftp :

	ftp research.att.com as anonymous and look in netlib/c/meschach.
