You have not linked the program yet! gcc -c hello.c -o hello would produce the object file as `hello' not linked executable! type this : gcc -o hello hello.c then gcc will compile and link (providing you have both gcc and ld on your PATH). What you typed would not have worked on unix machines either. Osman
