Of the several dozen people who wanted copies of the assembly-code for direct screen update, about half asked just how much faster it was than bitblt. Unfortunately, being the lazy sort, I didn't know. Now one person who is using it has run a test. For those interested, he reports 5.4 frames/sec with the "xfer" routine vs. 2.7 frames/sec with grx bitblt, on a 1024x768x256 image with a 486/33. Ernie
