fnsplit - someone posted some notes on it just a few days ago.
getch - as above, your solution is OK.
coreleft - no sense to implement due to virtual memory, no way to get
it working due to error in go32 memory management...
filelen == seek to end and ftell or  something similar (will also work 
with Borland.
