The best way to deal with Microsoft is to keep paths open to move away from
them (to Unix, to Desqview, to DrDOS, ...). A GNU boycott of Microsoft or
any bottle throwing at them serves their fundamental aim of isolating and
growing a captive audience. And in the end, if Microsoft were to accomodate
to compatibility (e.g. DPMI 1.0 instead of .9) or offer something that
was technically competent, it won't be because they are attacked, it wil
be because they're forced to keep brushing shoulders with other developers
who aren't in their pockets.
