I've written a filename conversion script, to be run under Unix. It
will generate unique MS-DOS acceptable file and directory names for all
files in a directory tree, and change the contents of any files
referring to an invalid name to use the converted name.

The script requires "standard Unix tools"--nawk/gawk, sed,
grep, find, sh.
