This is a summary of responses after posting to comp.os.msdos.desqview:

I just ordered a couple copies. The best prices I got were from CompUSA. They
are $155 for DESQview/X and $113 for the TCP/IP Network Manager. Their toll-
free number is 800-468-4682. This was a GSA price.

The best package I have seen so far is DESQview/X with the "DESQview/X to
other X systems Network Manager" at Egghead Software for $199. This is the
same price that the regular DESQview/X is going for.

Actually, I was in an Egghead the other day, buying OS/2 (boo! hiss!).
I paid $92 - how good of a price was that?
But the thing is this, I looked at Egghead's prices for QOS products and
they looked (obscenely) high. $90 for QEMM. $80 for DV. $170 for DV/386.
They also had DV/X for, as you mention, $199, which seemed high to me,
since I got it for $100. But if that includes the "Network Manager"
(for which I would have to pay another $100), then it is obviously a
very good deal.

Yes, Egghead is high on some stuff, reasonable on others. But there is
one more thing to be commented on, Egghead has a discount program, their
CUE card, which gives the buyer an extra 5% discount. So DESQview/X with
the (Novell's & FTP's) TCP/IP Network Manager, can be bought for less than
$190 (add local taxes). Compare this to the $200 plus shipping charges
from Quarterdeck for those of us who have a Quarterdeck product, Egghead
is a "slightly" better deal in this case. For those who don't have a
Quarterdeck product, this is a EXCELLENT deal!
So basically for those of us who own ANY Quarterdeck product, it is a
toss-up going to Egghead. If you DON'T, and you need the DESQview/X with
the TCP/IP Network Manager, go to Egghead and get this.
By the way I am being asked by a couple of people for more information
on this. To save me some "headaches" about this, does any one have a FAX
number for sales at Egghead's corporate (or other) office.
The last tibit I have is the "Egghead product number", DESQview/X with
"DESQview/X to other X systems Network Manager" on 3.5" disk is 160747.
ps For those who don't know, the CUE card is obtained in the store and
can be used to get an immediate 5% discount.
pps Oh, yes if you do go to Egghead to get this, tell them "Greg Alheid
sent me" (My last name is prnounced "all-hide") 8^)

Check out Computability's price: $161 for straight DV/X. Not sure if they have
any thing else for DV/X, can always call and find out.

PC-Connection:
DV/X $169.00
TCP/IP Network manager $125.00
BTW: It would be great, if someone could fill in fax-numbers
